First Aid
Here at The Dive Shop we offer all levels of First Aid training right up to and including instructor level courses.
We offer Emergency First Response Primary and Secondary Care (HSE Appointed Persons) courses which are conducted over one day. This meets the pre-requisites for the Rescue Diver qualification and is a fantastic way to learn about First Aid. Open to anyone no previous First Aid experience needed, it covers Cardiopulmonary resuscitation as well as secondary care which concentrates on non life threatening emergencies such as bites and stings
The Dive Shop also provides specific paediatric Care for children courses aimed at providing First Aid treatment for infants and children. This can be tailored to meet the UK requirements to provide paediatric First Aid for child care professionals working within that industry.
It's also a great insight into the different conditions your child or infant may suffer from in early life and provide you with the skills to recognise these early, provide the relevant First Aid measures and contact the emergency services early for conditions you otherwise may not be aware of.
Again conducted over one day ( 2 for healthcare professionals) it sets you apart from everyone as having the specific skills to help your own or other children at their most vulnerable times.
The Dive Shop caters for the professional and industrial market by being an approved First Aid At Work Training Centre. This means we are Approved by The Health and Safety Executive to provide workplace First Aid Courses in accordance with the Health and Safety( First Aid at Work) Regulations 1981 and the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974.
Conducted over a minimum of 3 days we cover all the relevant legislative areas eg RIDDOR and COSHH. In addition to tailoring the training to your aspect of work. This can be provided in our purpose built classrooms or on site at your workplace. Resulting in an industry wide portable qualification this gives employees and employers the skills needed to fulfil the above legislation.
We also provide here at the Dive Shop approved Manual Handling training either on site at your workplace or in our purpose built classrooms. It’s a great addition to you own induction training and helps reduce your employers liability by having your staff trained and certified in manual handling.
Covering the regulations , methods of lifting and injury avoidance, this training session which takes only half a day equips your staff to lift and move items in a safe controlled manner.
As an Approved Workplace Training centre and with our on site Instructor trainer, here at the Dive Shop we can offer Instructor courses in all of the First Aid Courses we provide .
